Responsibility of Project Manager
The Project Manager he should possess basic knowledge about the practical construction procedures in site, along with the details of how they are planned. This idea of planning and coordination will help him to have proper execution of the activities in the site with desired performance.
The responsibilities of a Project Manager are wide as he must provide sufficient advice and supervision when there are any technical issues, or for proper management and for the preparation of day to day reports of the construction works. Major Responsibilities are mentioned under
Coordinate with BMC day today basis
· Complete knowledge of the planning, monitoring, execution, billing of the Road projects works
· Liaise with contractors, helpers, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and other government authorities as and when required,
· Managing road works, and prepare their schedules, preparation of directories for all these above mentioned people, making coordination among them, calculation and estimating the required quantities required for execution of work
· Conducting survey and leveling and recording the entries, checking the map sheets understanding and approve them for further execution, analyzing the soil, its variants, water table and checking the feasibility of the work.
· Knowledge in analysis of rates, Pre tendering works, tendering, bidding & Contracting
· Experience in construction of VUP, PUP, Flyover, road under bridge (RUB) and RC/RE wall constructions.
· Experience in preparing project bills related to both client-NHAI/PWD/PMGSY and subcontractors
· Coordinate with Designer, Proof, Safety consultant and get the required drawings approved from the authority
· Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
· Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
· Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
· Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies
· Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities
· Supervise the work of laborers, mechanics etc. and give them guidance when needed
· Attend meetings, report to management and authorities on progress, finish the project on time.
· Coordinate will all stakeholders involved in the project.
Requirements
· Proven experience as construction project manager
· In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
· Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
· Good knowledge of MS Office.
· Knowledge of MSP/Primavera will add value i.e Familiarity with construction/ project management software
· Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills
· A team player with leadership abilities
· PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage
